Contestants Applications Open Now! 

Contestants should be:

  • Enthusiastic about sharing their power exchange dynamics with the community.
  • Prepared to participate in scheduled rehearsals, interviews, and performances.
  • Ready to engage with judges, audiences, and event organizers respectfully and collaboratively.
  • Contestants must be from BC, AB, SK, or MB

Contests will be required to do  the following:

  • Educational Presentation about your specific dynamic.  
    • Minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes to give an explanation to the audience about your relationship dynamic
  • Demo/Fantasy (Think of this as a scene) 
    • Maximum of 4 minutes
  • Have a private Interview with the judges’ panel for a maximum of 20 minutes

  • A commitment to fair and thoughtful evaluation.

We have decided to have all judges apply for transparency in the process.  We do not want only our family and friends on the judging panel.  We want qualified candidates to apply and feel like they could be a judge.

Stage Director

The Stage Director ensures the seamless flow of the competition from backstage to the main stage, working closely with the Contestant Wrangler and technical team. The Stage Directors and stagehands play a critical role in the West Canada Power Exchange Contest, guiding the show from behind the scenes with precision and focus. They coordinate the timing, manage transitions, and support the team to create a flawless experience on stage.

Auction and Fundraising Director

This role focuses on coordinating fundraising efforts, including silent auctions and donation drives, to support future WCPE events.

Scorekeepers

This role focuses on accurately recording and managing scores during the WCPE contest to ensure a fair and transparent competition.

The Kink Compass Conference is the educational arm of the Western Canada Power Exchange Contest (WCPE) weekend. This one-day conference delivers a rich lineup of workshops designed to inform, inspire, and connect our kink and power exchange communities.

Logistics Director

Administration Directors – Filled – 

Do you see the details other miss?  Do you want to organize behind the scenes and be the go to person for all ticket related and conference related questions?  This role is demanding and details matter

Security Director 

Are you a calm, vigilant leader with a strong sense of responsibility and a passion for community safety? Do you excel at managing teams and responding quickly to issues with professionalism and care? If so, the role of Security Director at the Kink Compass Conference offers you a critical leadership position to help create a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all attendees. The Security Directors will co-lead the security team on-site, working closely with event staff, volunteers, and the venue to ensure everyone’s safety and uphold community and hotel policies. You’ll oversee real-time response to situations, helping maintain a smooth, secure flow throughout the weekend.

Medical Director– Filled – 

Medical certification or relevant experience (EMT, nurse, physician, first aid, etc.) strongly preferred. Experience or training in emotional support, crisis intervention, or peer support is a strong asset. Calm, empathetic, and professional demeanor under pressure. Excellent communication and confidentiality skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community members. Commitment to creating a safe, supportive environment that honors attendee privacy and dignity.

Do you thrive on managing logistics and working closely with teams to ensure everything flows effortlessly? If so, the role of Host Director at the Kink Compass Conference is your chance to be the heartbeat of the event’s in-person hospitality and coordination. The Host Director is responsible for organizing and overseeing the team of hosts who help manage traffic flow, uphold the hotel’s and our community’s values, and provide a welcoming environment for all attendees. You will be the key contact ensuring that arrivals, transitions, and common spaces operate efficiently, while also supporting newcomers’ integration by attending their orientation meeting. As Host Director, you will be at the center of creating a welcoming and seamless experience for all attendees, supporting the integrity of our event space, and helping newcomers feel at home. Dungeon Monitor Lead 

Are you passionate about creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment in the dungeon? Do you have strong leadership skills and a keen eye for detail when it comes to safety and consent? If so, the role of Dungeon Monitor Lead at the Kink Compass Conference is your opportunity to oversee the dungeon monitoring team and ensure all play spaces operate smoothly, safely, and in alignment with our community values. The Dungeon Monitor Lead manages and supports a team of dungeon monitors who oversee the play areas during event hours. You will coordinate schedules, provide training and guidance, and be the key contact for any concerns or issues related to dungeon safety and etiquette.

Volunteer Photographer & Videographer

Are you passionate about capturing authentic moments, telling stories through images, and supporting community events? Do you have an eye for detail and enjoy documenting connection, education, and play in ways that celebrate consent and respect? If so, the role of Volunteer Photographer & Videographer at the Kink Compass Conference and Western Canada Power Exchange Contest is your opportunity to showcase the energy, diversity, and spirit of our community.

As a Photographer & Videographer, you’ll be responsible for documenting classes, keynote sessions, social spaces, and community moments throughout the event. Your work will help us preserve memories, highlight the magic of the weekend, and create content that can be shared with future participants and supporters. You will work closely with the organizing team to understand consent protocols, capture approved moments, and ensure participants’ privacy and comfort are always respected.

Stage Hands 

  • Responsibilities:

    • Support backstage transitions
    • Move props and assist with setups
    • Coordinate with Producers

General volunteers help ensure the event runs smoothly by assisting in various areas, such as registration, hospitality, technical support, and attendee assistance.

Volunteer Roles Include:

  • Registration & Check-in – Greet attendees, manage event entry, and distribute materials.

  • Hospitality & Attendee Support – Help guests navigate the event, provide information, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.

  • Runner/Floater – Available for general assistance wherever needed during the event.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and willing to assist in different capacities.

  • Comfortable working in a team and taking direction from event staff.

  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.

Educators lead workshops, discussions, and skill-building sessions during the event, providing attendees with valuable knowledge about power exchange dynamics, communication, and other related topics.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging educational sessions.

  • Create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment.

  • Answer attendee questions and provide resources for further learning.

  • Work with event organizers to align sessions with the event’s overall themes.
